What is Precedure Text?

Procedure Text, atau teks prosedur dalam Bahasa Indonesia, merupakan teks yang memberikan kita perintah atau instruksi untuk melakukan sesuatu. Biasanya jenis teks ini diawali dengan kalimat “How to…”, misalnya “How to make a cup of tea” atau “How to operate the machine”. Procedure Text banyak terdapat di buku resep masakan dan buku petunjuk (manual book).

Tujuan dari Procedure Text adalah untuk menjelaskan bagaimana sesuatu dibuat, dilakukan atau digunakan melalui langkah-langkah yang berurutan (to show how something is made/used/done through sequence of steps).

Struktur Teks (Generic Structure) Procedure Text

Goals/Aim : berisikan tujuan dari suatu kegiatan atau hal yang akan di lakukan atau di buat nantinya.
Materials/tools : berisis bahan-bahan atau alat-alat yang dibutuhkan dalam melakukan suatu hal . dalam procedure text materials bersifat opsional atau tidak selalu ada.
Steps : Merupakan serangkaian langkah-langkah atau tips yang harus di lakukan.
Conclusion/Result : Berisi hasil akhir dari apa yang telah di kerjakan sesuai dengan langkah-langkah yang di lakukan

Ada 3 jenis Procedural Text yang tidak menggunakan bagian materials. Perhatikan penjelasan berikut ini.

Pertama, Procedure Text yang menjelaskan bagaimana bekerja atau cara melakukan instruksi secara manual contohnya,How to use video game, the computer, the tape recorder, the fax, dan sebagainya.

Kedua, Procedural Text yang menginstruksikan bagai-mana melakukan aktivitas-aktivitas tertentu serta peraturannya. Contohnya, road safety rules, video game rules, dan sebagainya.

Ketiga, Procedural Text yang berhubungan dengan sifat atau kebiasaan manusia. Contohnya, How to live happily, atau How to succeed, dan sebagainya.

Unsur Kebahasaan

Imperative : Imperative merupakan unsur yang terdapat dalam propcedure text berupa kalimat-klimat perintah seperti Pour the water, cut the vegetables dan yang lainnya.
Simple Present tense : menggunakan kata kerja bentuk pertama yaitu presents .
Action Verbs : merupakan kata kerja yang menunjukkan kegiatan fisik , misalnya put, mix , take dan yang lainnya.
Connective of Squence : adaah kata penghubung yang menghubungkan langkah satu dengan langkah yang lain.
Numbering : angka-angka yang menunjukan urutan kegiatan seperti first, second third, fourth dan yang lainnya.

HOW TO USE A RICE COOKER TO MAKE RICE: THE BASICS

Here are the steps

Measure the rice. Brown rice, white rice, black rice, basmati rice—whatever rice floats your boat. The cooker will just know what to do, trust me.
Rinse the rice. This step is optional, but it does give you fluffier rice with more distinct grains if that’s what you’re looking for.
Put the rice in the cooker.
Measure the water and add it to the cooker. How much water? It depends on the kind of rice you are making, but you’d use the same amount of water or liquid as you’d use for stovetop cooking. (If you are using a multi-cooker under pressure, this won’t be the case; refer to the manual.)
Put on the lid.
Switch the cooker to BOIL or COOK. If it’s a fuzzy logic cooker or a multi-cooker, just select the program for the kind of rice you are making. You’ll need to read the directions the cooker came with. Sorry.
Let it cook. How long will this take? It depends on the cooker, and how much liquid you added. However, it always seems to take longer than I expect. Stovetop burners usually boil water faster.
Listen and look. When the rice is cooked, the cooker’s special hidden juju will switch to WARM, and the light will change. Some cookers will beep, or even play a little song. Inexpensive cookers will sometimes produce an audible CLICK, but that’s it.
Lift off the lid and check the rice. It’ll be done, I promise. Oh ho ho, it’s magic! Invariably, rice is best after it sits steaming gently about 10 minutes after the cooker switches to warm (this is true of rice cooked on a stovetop, too).
Eat the rice when you’re ready. When the cooker is on, the rice waits for you patiently at just the right temperature. Goldilocks would be into it. This is the big win with rice cookers. Yep, it’s safe to have the rice sitting there for hours and hours on the warm setting!

Hi guys,
Jangan cembetut jika diakhir pembelajaran selalu ada test atau tugas ya. Sudah seharusnya demikian supaya kalian latihan dan tentu saja mendapatkan nilai. Caranya adalah kalian bisa simpan catatan di depan kalian atau di samping/di belakang kamera/hp kalian. Atau kalian bisa menuliskannya di kertas atau karton lalu kalian tempel/gantung di dinding, atau kalian minta seseorang untuk memeganginya di depan untuk kalian baca. Terpenting kalian sampaikan step stepnya ya secara berurutan.
